Over 6,700 Bank Officer Vacancies Open Right Now Under IBPS PO 2026
IBPS has opened 6,715 Probationary Officer/Management Trainee vacancies across 11 public sector banks under CRP PO/MT-XVI, with applications closing 21 July 2026.
A sharp jump in banking-sector hiring is underway. IBPS has released the CRP PO/MT-XVI notification for 2026, opening 6,715 indicative vacancies for Probationary Officer and Management Trainee posts across 11 public sector banks — around 1,500 more than the previous cycle.
The final number may still change: Indian Bank, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India have listed their vacancies as ‘Not Reported’ for now, so the total could increase once those banks confirm. PwBD reservation stands at 73 seats for hearing impairment, 70 for orthopedic disability, 67 for visual impairment, and 77 for intellectual disability.
Graduates of any discipline aged 20 to 30 years as on 1 July 2026 can apply online through ibps.in, with the window open from 1 July to 21 July 2026. The application fee is ₹850 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, and age relaxation applies to reserved categories as per Government of India norms.
IBPS runs a four-stage selection: a qualifying Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination with objective and descriptive papers, a mandatory Personality Test, and a Common Interview worth 100 marks — with the final merit list based on an 80:20 weightage between Main Exam and Interview scores.
The Main Exam pattern has been revised for 2026, expanding the objective section to 170 questions worth 200 marks (up from 145), across Reasoning Ability, General/Banking/Digital Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis & Interpretation, still within 160 minutes. IBPS has also dropped the Credit History/CIBIL Score requirement from this year’s notification.
Selected candidates draw a basic pay of about ₹48,480 monthly, with gross pay including DA, HRA and other allowances estimated at ₹88,000 to ₹92,000, depending on the bank and posting. The Preliminary Exam is tentatively scheduled for 22-23 August 2026, Mains for 4 October 2026.
