Apple’s $600 billion US investment plan gets its biggest pledge yet
Apple's $30 billion Broadcom chip deal is the largest single pledge under its $600 billion US manufacturing investment plan.
Apple’s newly announced $30 billion partnership expansion with chipmaker Broadcom marks the single largest financial pledge made under Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, forming part of the company’s broader $600 billion, four-year US investment strategy first announced in 2025, according to a CNBC report.
The deal will see the production of more than 15 billion chips made in the United States, with a major share of the agreement going toward a $1.5 billion physical expansion of Broadcom’s manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. Apple has not yet shared an exact timeline for when the new factory lines will come online.
Broadcom has long supplied the wireless components that allow iPhones and iPads to connect to cellular networks, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Citing a Broadcom security filing, the report said the company will also develop specialised “custom ASIC silicon products,” optimised for AI workloads, for multiple generations of Apple hardware through 2031.
Apple said it has been “working with the Administration and businesses across the US to help create an end-to-end silicon supply chain in America,” describing the announcement as advancing those efforts.
