Applications Open Next Week for 1087 Government Teaching Jobs in Karnataka

KEA has released the KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 notification for 1087 posts, with online applications open 15 July to 13 August 2026.

A fresh round of government teaching jobs has opened up in Karnataka. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026 notification for the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS), covering 1087 vacancies statewide.

The total is made up of two separate notifications dated 10 July 2026: 767 posts for the Rest of the State (RPC) cadre and 320 posts for the Kalyana-Karnataka (KK) local cadre, across teaching subjects including language, science, mathematics, social science and physical education.

The online application window opens 15 July 2026 and closes 13 August 2026, through kea.kar.nic.in or cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates need a relevant Bachelor’s degree, a B.Ed qualification recognised by the NCTE, and a valid KARTET or equivalent Teacher Eligibility Test certificate to be considered.

Applicants must also demonstrate working knowledge of Kannada, in line with Karnataka Government recruitment rules, and generally meet the state’s domicile requirements. The minimum age for eligibility is 18 years, with the maximum age and any relaxations for reserved categories set out in the official notification.

Selection is decided through an online written examination on subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and Kannada/English sections, followed by document verification and preparation of a final merit list before school allotment.

KREIS was set up under Karnataka’s Social Welfare Department to provide free residential education, modelled on Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, to children from SC, ST, OBC and other socially and economically weaker sections across the state.
