Samsung’s Android XR smart glasses tipped for a July 22 reveal alongside new foldables

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event, set for July 22 in London, is expected to go beyond foldable phones — with the company tipped to give its long-anticipated Android XR smart glasses their first proper showcase. The glasses may not go on sale immediately, however, with availability expected at a later stage.

The event will be streamed live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel starting at 6:30 pm IST. Alongside the XR glasses, Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Ahead of the event, Samsung has already opened pre-reservations in India for its next generation of Galaxy foldables, rumoured to include the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Customers can reserve a unit for a refundable Rs 999 token through Samsung.com, Samsung Exclusive Stores, Amazon India, Flipkart and retail stores.

Those who complete a purchase after launch will receive benefits worth Rs 2,799, Samsung said, adding that its next foldables will pair AI with new designs to deliver more personalised, adaptive experiences while getting thinner, lighter and stronger.
