Why this creator books 10-day trips instead of long vacations or short weekend getaways
Travel creator Annie Sharma says her preferred 10-day trip length lets her sandwich two weekends around remote workdays, maximising exploration without leaving her job.
Most people planning a getaway choose between a short weekend trip or a long vacation that eats into their annual leave. Travel creator Annie Sharma says she has found a middle ground that works better for her: trips that last around 10 days.
Her reason is to make better use of weekends while balancing work. “What this helps me do is sandwich two weekends during my trip. I can explore the place on weekends, and on weekdays I can also work remotely,” she explains. She says this allows her to spend more time exploring without being away from work throughout the entire trip.
According to Annie, remote work is one of the biggest reasons she can travel this way. She also shares that she earns through social media content, sponsored activities, and occasional sponsored trips, income sources that help support her travel expenses.
Her approach challenges a common assumption in travel content, where quitting a job is often framed as the only path to frequent travel. Annie’s takeaway is different: “You don’t have to leave your job to follow your passion because everyone on social media is saying you do that. Sometimes all it needs is better planning,” she says.
